Of the many benefits people expect from their smartphone cases, first and foremost is some kind of protection. After all, the realities of life often include smartphones being accidentally bumped, hit and dropped–no matter how careful we are in handling them.

What makes Seidio’s cases so astonishing is the level of protection our products provide, while still remaining slim, lightweight and non-clunky. Many of our cases meet a variety of industry drop protection standards. And all of them are engineered for life.

Whether you’re an active outdoors person or not, there will always be moments when you’re outside of your home or car and Mother Nature comes calling. That’s why Seidio designs and engineers cases for outdoor lovers as well as for those might rather stay inside.

From the slimmest protection available to tough, rugged outdoors defense systems, Seidio cases cover a wide range of safeguarding options in a broad collection of styles. So whether your fair-weather or up for anything, Seidio cases have got you covered.

When people first see the Seidio kickstand in action, they’re often surprised by its elegant looks and simple function. They’re even more engaged and delighted when they feel the finely engineered motion of the kickstand itself.

And when they finally view whatever multimedia content they’re interested in by deploying the kickstand, they usually wonder why someone hasn’t thought of it before. The answer is, of course, not everyone designs and creates products with the obsessive passion of Seidio.

We are referring, of course, to families with children. Whether it’s toddlers or teens, or both, it seems no group of humans is more likely to be involved with smartphone accidents. Who would have ever imagined we’d have to protect our devices from baby bites and drool? Two-year old temper tantrums? And absent-minded young adults?

Well, we at Seidio would. And we did. That’s why we’ve designed products that fit parents’ lifestyles as well as their lives; lives that include the unpredictable actions of children.

If design ignores the needs of people, then people tend to ignore that design. And there are two critical needs people expect their phone cases to deliver on: Stylish form and functional protection. Both of which Seidio over-delivers on, always.

At Seidio, the ideas and concepts associated with great design aren’t just some lofty notions. They are lived and breathed everyday by everyone involved in the creation of our products. The end result is a collection of beautiful cases and accessories that not only look great, they also endure the many hazards of everyday life.

While I just got this case today so I can’t attest to it’s actual protective qualities, I can say this: it feels right. I was an Otterbox Symmetry devotee with my Note 4–I had 7 Otterbox cases in various colors and patterns–so when I ordered my Note 8 I also ordered one of the Note 8 Otterbox Symmetry cases (despite the lackluster color/pattern selection). I was dissatisfied with the new Otterbox case. Not only does it fit sort of loosely, even almost sloppily, the shape/size/location of the S-pen cut out makes retrieving the pen difficult, and the edges of the case don’t seem like they protect the sides of the Note 8 at all. It just doesn’t feel the same way my Note 4 felt in its Otterbox–safe, solid and secure.

Now that I have my Dilex Kryptek case, however, I have that feeling back. When the phone’s in the case it feels perfectly safe, solid, and secure. It’s also, though, less bulky than the old Otterbox was. Sleeker. It’s easy to hold, and smooth while still providing good grip. I thought the crisp edges might be sharp, but I honestly don’t really notice. The S-pen cut out works very well, and the other cut-outs are well done, too.

As far as looks, the pattern and its colors are beautiful (I bought the blue-ish Pontus color) and the blue color of the corners and accents is a rich and pretty but not too crazy blue. The kickstand is well made, and classy. Overall it’s pretty, stylish, and classy, especially for what I would call a more “rugged” case.

The only thing I’m having a little trouble with, so far, is wireless charging. I have the OEM Samsung charger, the stand up pad instead of the flat pad, and so I haven’t been able to position the phone “just so” enough to allow the phone to keep charging. So far it will charge for a minute, then stop charging. Could be the magnetic kickstand, could be the thickness of the case or its edges. However, I don’t mind removing the case to charge the phone, using a slimmer case to charge. I’m not too worried about things happening to the phone while it’s charging.

All in all, I highly recommend this case. I researched, read, hounded the staff at Seidio about availability dates, ordered as soon as it was available, and I’m so glad I waited for their Dilex Kryptek case. I think it’s one of the best rugged yet stylish and usable cases out there. We’ll see how it works with the Vitreo screen protector, but so far it’s fine with the tempered glass protector I have already installed on my phone. Love
